Connect for the first time

Open the app on Mac and iPhone/iPad. For initial local testing, connect both to the same local network. On Mac, generate a six-digit pairing code, enter it on the mobile device, then approve pairing on Mac.

Allow Accessibility access

In macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, enable access for PalmBridge. This permission lets the app send input and controls to Mac apps. If a change does not take effect, reopen the app and retry.

Local-network connection

Check that both devices are on the same LAN and allow Local Network access if the system requests it. Guest Wi-Fi, client isolation, VPNs, or firewall rules may prevent communication. Do not disable your firewall wholesale; inspect the app’s access instead.

Keep your pairing code private

Only approve devices you recognize. Do not share your code with others. A Mac supports up to three mobile devices, and each mobile device retains one Mac.

If the connection fails

Confirm the Mac app is running, both devices share a network, and required permissions are enabled. Check the pairing code and approve the Mac prompt. Restart both apps if needed. Remote internet connection is experimental and is not a guaranteed fallback.

Input compatibility

Use the iPhone/iPad system keyboard, including system dictation. Confirmed text is synchronized to Mac; the separate Return button sends the Mac Return key. Choose a target Mac app or “None” to follow the active app. Compatibility varies by Mac app and is still being tested.

Disconnect and pair again

To pair again, generate a new code on Mac, enter it on the mobile device, and authorize on Mac. The exact disconnect, replacement-pairing and credential-removal behavior must still be verified against the final build. Do not assume closing the app revokes pairing.

Current testing scope

Core connection and control are implemented. Remote connection, three real devices controlling one Mac simultaneously, and input compatibility remain under validation. Minimum OS versions will be published when confirmed.
